What is Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) offers financial support for extra living costs. It's for those who have a health condition (physical or mental) or a disability that requires support with everyday tasks.
There are two parts to PIP, including a daily living part for help with day-to-day tasks, and a mobility part for getting around. The amount of PIP you receive and for which part/s will depend on your individual circumstances. You can learn more about how PIP works and how it is assessed on the government's website.
How do I update my nominated drivers?
If you need to add or remove any nominated drivers, you can do so in your Motability Scheme online account. Simply login and head to the 'Insurance cover' section, where you'll be able to make any changes.

How do you cancel a Motability car lease?
If your needs have now changed and you'd like to end your lease early, you'll need to get in touch with Motability. You can call their customer services team on 0300 456 4566 to discuss ending your lease. Note that if this is agreed, you'll need to pay an administration fee of up to �250.
On the flip side, if you'd like to extend your lease while you look for another vehicle, you can. This will happen automatically if you don't renew your lease, giving you an extra six months. Learn more about the latest on lease extensions in our handy blog.

Can I get a Motability Scheme car on standard-rate PIP?
Unfortunately, you can't lease a car through the Motability Scheme if you receive the lower rate allowance. However, if your circumstances change later and you receive the higher amount, you can then apply to join the Scheme.
