BTCC's Newest Race Winner To Appear At Dunfermline Hyundai
Scottish race fans will have the chance to meet the newest race winner from the British Touring Car Championship when he makes an appearance at Macklin Motors’ Hyundai dealership in Dunfermline this week.
Ronan Pearson will be present at the dealership from 12:00-13:30 on Wednesday 22nd May to meet Macklin Motors colleagues and customers, with local race fans also invited to attend to meet the rising star – who will be available for photos and autographs.
Ronan, from nearby Kelty, stormed to his first victory in Britain’s premier racing series during the most recent event on the schedule at Brands Hatch. The 22-year-old led team-mate Tom Chilton to the flag in race three of the weekend for a 1-2 finish, at the wheel of his Hyundai i30 Fastback N emblazoned with the Macklin Motors logo.
Ronan is embarking on his second season in the BTCC, having joined the grid for the first time last year following a successful stint in the MINI CHALLENGE, where he scored multiple race wins and a best championship finish of fourth.
His rookie campaign in the BTCC featured a number of notable results, with a best finish of fourth coming at his home event at Knockhill, where he also secured victory in the Jack Sears Trophy – the class open to drivers who start the season without an overall podium finish.
This season, Ronan’s second year in the series, where he once again carries backing from Macklin Motors, kicked off with a solid performance at Donington Park, where he scored his best ever qualifying result and also broke the lap record.
That was the pre-cursor to the breakthrough weekend at Brands Hatch, where his victory earned him a spot in the BTCC history books, as the first driver born in the 21stcentury to make it onto the top step of the podium.
As part of the celebrations following his impressive on-track success, Ronan will make an appearance at the Macklin Motors Hyundai dealership on Halbeath Road, Dunfermline alongside his BTCC trophy on Wednesday 22 May, prior to heading to the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk this weekend, for the third meeting of the season.
Scottish fans who want to cheer Ronan on in person, will be able to do so when the BTCC heads to Knockhill on the weekend of 10-11 August.
