Ford Updates the Transit Connect to Make It Even More Appealing for Businesses
Ford has declared enhancements for Transit Connect, offering customers world-class fuel efficiency and a 1.0-tonne payload for the first time ever. Low carbon dioxide emissions will not only help to decrease fuel costs for operators, but also minimise greenhouse gas emissions.
The Transit Connect light now enables operators to carry heavier loads, which in turn improves productivity.
Ford is also launching a new high-end Limited series in selected markets, which will offer a modern exterior and luxurious interior for customers that are interested in a more exclusive vehicle.
Enhanced Fuel Efficiency and Payload
The Transit Connect delivers better fuel efficiency than any other light commercial in its class, helping businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and save on operating costs.
Ford enhanced the Transit Connect’s load-carrying capability and increased the payload of up to 982kg as a result of responding to customer feedback. The dual passenger seat option was removed to contribute to the enhanced payload allowance, as well as optimising wheel and tyre configurations. However, the dual passenger seat option still remains available.
Customers have the option of a range of powertrains to best suit their operating requirements, including a choice of 100PS or 120PS 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engines with six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions.
Limited Series Available Now
Ford is introducing a new Limited series for the Transit Connect which will feature distinctive design features, including 16-inch Sparkle Sliver alloy wheels as well as body-coloured wing mirrors, door handles and side mouldings. Drivers will also be able to benefit from heated seats, auto lighting and rain-sense wipers to make those longer shifts more comfortable.
