Get To Know The All-New Nissan Qashqai
The all-new, third-generation Nissan Qashqai has made its world debut, reinforcing its number one position in the European crossover segment.
Since its launch in 2007, it’s been one of the most popular Nissan models to date, with over three million sold, and now, the third-generation reinstates its leading position within its segment.
Marco Fioravanti, Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan Automotive Europe, said: “The starting point for the design and development of the all-new Qashqai was a deep analysis of the relationships we’ve had with all of our Qashqai customers over the last 13 years. It has enabled us to understand their needs and, in particular, what they value in the crossover that they use and rely on daily.”
The team at Nissan Design Europe, based in central London, took the lead on the design of the all-new Qashqai, with engineering updates headed up by Nissan Technical Centre Europe, which is situated in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.
Let’s take a closer look at the third-generation Nissan Qashqai...

EXTERIOR STYLING
Although it still boasts the iconic Qashqai styling, the third generation appears to be tougher, with a muscular stance to ensure it owns every road. The bold exterior features an extended wheelbase and, for the first time ever, the Qashqai is equipped with powerful, 20-inch alloy wheels.
The addition of LED technology has created a piercing finish, with the forward lighting appearing slimmer and sharper, which complements the enlarged Nissan V-Motion grille.
Customers will be able to personalise their new Qashqai, thanks to the extensive choice of 11 body colours with five two-tone combinations to choose from.
RELAX ON EVERY JOURNEY
The third-generation Qashqai has set the standards even higher when it comes to premium interiors.
The brand has developed new ambient lighting to flood the cabin area, creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere for all passengers. This, combined with the finest materials to craft the seats, enhances overall comfort for the most relaxing experience.
On the higher trim levels, massaging functions are also available on both front seats for ultimate support and relaxation.
Marco Fioravanti, Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan Automotive Europe, explained: “Between the design, engineering and product planning functions, we have worked harder than ever to elevate the ambience of the new Nissan Qashqai for our customers so their drive is comfortable, refined, convenient and engenders a feeling of well-being. It’s where our customers, their families and friends will be spending their time with the car and it should be an exceptional experience.”
STAY CONNECTED
Building on the Qashqai’s capabilities, Nissan has installed even more innovative technology to improve the overall driving experience.
For those who want to keep connected, the on-board WIFI enables connection for up to seven devices, while smartphone compatibility is another standard feature.
The 12.3-inch TFT multi-information screen is larger to improve usability and navigation for drivers and passengers, and works as a hub for all entertainment services and vehicle settings.
ENJOY A CLEANER DRIVE
The all-new Nissan Qashqai is available with mild hybrid technology, to help reduce emissions and improve air quality on both long and short journeys.
The iconic e-POWER technology synonymous with the LEAF, also makes its debut with the Qashqai and enables drivers to enjoy the smooth acceleration of electric motoring without needing to recharge.
Gianluca de Ficchy, Chairman, Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) Region, concluded: “The new Qashqai is going to change what customers can expect from a family car. Comfort, refinement and technology will be comparable with upper segment vehicles, while the driving experience will satisfy drivers and passengers alike. With Nissan’s bold e-POWER technology, we feel that customers will fall in love with the feeling of an electric powertrain, without the range concerns.”
