Hearts See Winning Run Brought To An End
Hearts saw its winning run in the Scottish Premiership come to an end after the Macklin Motors-backed side slid to defeat against league leaders Rangers at Ibrox.
The Edinburgh outfit had scored eleven wins in twelve games across league and cup but came up against a Rangers side in even better form on the back of seven successive league wins.
Cheered on by a huge home crowd, Rangers grabbed the lead early on through Mohamed Diomande when he drove in from just outside the box after only two minutes.
Rangers went two clear when Oscar Cortes finished off a flowing move from similar distance, and the home side grabbed a third before the break when Cyriel Dessers volleyed past Zander Clark from close range.
As Hearts struggled to get into the game, Dessers added his second from close range shortly after the break before Fabio Silva completed the scoring with a shot across Clark into the far corner.
Despite the defeat, Hearts remain eleven points clear of Kilmarnock in the race for third place in the table ahead of the visit of Hibernian on Wednesday for the latest Edinburgh derby.
