Hibernian Bounce Back To Hit Top Four
Hibernian have moved into the top four in the Scottish Premiership despite the Macklin Motors-backed side seeing its recent winning run come to an end.
The Edinburgh team had won three-on-the-bounce going into a crunch game against league leaders Celtic at Parkhead, and it was the Hoops who took an early lead through Oh Hyeon-gyu after just five minutes.
Hibs would struggle to deal with the defending champions who went two clear before half-time thanks to Matt O'Riley, with a controversial penalty from Luis Palma and a second for Oh allowing Celtic to move comfortably clear.
Christian Doidge added a consolation but a 4-1 defeat left Hibs fifth in the table going into another away trip, this time to bottom side Livingston.
A fine finish from Martin Boyle allowed Hibs to hit the front, with Dylan Vente then having a goal chalked off for offside.
Livingston grew into the game despite their lowly league position, with David Marshall forced into a number of saves to allow Hibs to retain their advantage.
Despite Livingston having plenty of changes, Hibs held on to secure the victory and have now moved into fourth in the table ahead of a trip to St Johnstone.
