Hibernian Gain Ground With Third Win
Hibernian made it three Scottish Premiership wins in a row after an impressive 2-0 victory against Aberdeen.
Facing off against the side that had ended the Hibees Viaplay Cup challenge at the semi-final stage, the Easter Road club was able to maintain a place inside the top six in the standings with a performance that was built as much on defence as it was in attack.
Hibs took the lead early on when a long clearance from David Marshall found its way to Martin Boyle, who was able to square the ball for Dylan Vente to turn the ball into an empty net for the opener.
Aberdeen grew into the game with Bojan Miovski hitting the post before Will Fish managed to scramble the ball away from the line.
Miovski then missed the chance to equalise after an error from Marshall before Hibs went two clear; Boyle delivering a pin-point corner for Fish to head into the net mid-way through the second half.
Aberdeeen were then given the chance to get back into the game from the spot but once again, Miovski was unable to convert the chance as Marshall saved his penalty kick to confirm all three points for the home side.
Hibs sit fifth in the table ahead of away games this week with league leaders Celtic and Livingston.
