Hibernian Hit Top Six With Ross County Win
Hibernian made it four games without defeat in the Scottish Premiership after the Macklin Motors-backed side secured a solid victory at home to Ross County.
Hibs had been the better side in the Edinburgh derby against Hearts but had been forced to settle for a point, but proved to be too good for County when they arrived at Easter Road.
Victor Loturi had an early chance for the visitors only to be denied by David Marshall after breaking forward from half way, but Hibernian gradually started to take control and it was no shock when the home side hit the front early in the second half.
Dylan Vente sent over a cross from the right-hand side that George Wickens was unable to hold onto, and when the ball fell lose to Myazine Maolida, he was able to stroke it into the net to open the scoring.
As Hibs spurned chances, Marshall saved well from Eamonn Brophy to prevent County from equalising before the points were secured through Dylan Levitt after he was played in by Elie Youan late on.
With Dundee dropping points following a draw with Kilmarnock, Hibs now sit sixth in the standings, with focus now switching to a home game with Rangers in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
