Hibernian rounded off the Scottish Premiership season with a draw at Livingston to end the campaign eighth in the table.

The Macklin Motors-backed side went into the game hoping to overhaul Aberdeen for seventh spot, with the mid-season split preventing the Edinburgh side finishing any higher – even with the potential to score more points than fifth-placed St Mirren.

With Livingston already relegated, the opening half the game would be one to forget before Hibernian hit the front shortly after the break.

Myziane Maolida got the breakthrough when the striker was given too much time in the box and clipped in a shot that flicked off defender Michael Nottingham before looping past the ‘keeper and into the net.

The home side equalised however when Joel Nouble’s cross was collected by Brunce Anderson, who took the ball down before sliding it into the net.

After a VAR check for a push in the box, the goal was allowed to stand to bring things level.

Anderson, playing his final game for Livingston, thought he had then put his side ahead when he charged through onto a long ball to slot the ball beyond Jojo Wollacott and into the net, but it was ruled out following a VAR check for off-side.

The point wasn’t enough to move Hibernian ahead of Aberdeen in the standings, with focus now turning towards finding a new Head Coach to lead the side into the new season, with interim boss David Gray having thrown his name into the hat after his latest stint in charge.
