Hyundai IONIQ Is Named Best Hybrid
Hyundai has won the ‘Best Hybrid’ honour at the Carbuyer Best Cars Awards for its IONIQ model.
The aim of the Carbuyer Awards is to really find out what car buyers are looking for, and therefore judgements are made after intense analysis of search engine data. Factors that are considered when choosing the winners include:
- Reliability of the vehicle
- Running Costs
- Price
- How easy it is to live with
- Performance and handling
The IONIQ was commended by the judging panel, especially for including a great range of in-car features, as well as being cheap to run.
Carbuyer editor-at-large, James Batchelor, said: “The Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid is now even better than ever, with updated looks and features, and a classy new infotainment system. Most of all though, the IONIQ is affordable to drive and own, with no big changes in lifestyle required of owners.”
The beauty of the Hyundai IONIQ is that, as well as the hybrid option, customers have the choice of two other powertrains. The plug-in hybrid has an electric range of 39 miles and super low Co2 emissions, whilst the fully electric powertrain offers drivers a zero-emission range of 193 miles and huge savings, with the running costs of the Ioniq electric-only being 3 pence per mile.
By having a variety of powertrain choices for consumers means that it encourages them to gradually make the switch to electric and become used to fitting in charging into their lifestyle.
Ashely Andrew, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor UK, explained: “It’s a tremendous honour to win a Carbuyer award, they are among the most objective and buyer-relevant awards in the industry. This award really demonstrates how innovation and value go hand-in-hand at Hyundai. The IONIQ is one of the most impressive eco-cars on the market, and its diverse powertrain offering means that there is an IONIQ for everyone.”
