Macklin Motors Boosts Support For Dunfermline Athletic FC
Macklin Motors has increased its support for Dunfermline Athletic Football Club after expanding its long-standing relationship with the Scottish Championship side.
The Club has worked with the Macklin Motors Dunfermline Vauxhall dealership since 2006, with the two parties being located next door to each other on Halbeath Road close to the centre of the Fife city.
Macklin Motors’ state-of-the-art Dunfermline multi-franchise site includes new car sales for the Vauxhall, Renault, Dacia and Hyundai brands, as well as a Ford Authorised repair centre.
The existing relationship has seen Macklin Motors Dunfermline Vauxhall and the Club work together in a number of ways through the years, which has included the dealership providing a Vauxhall Vivaro for use as a kit van, and Macklin Motors branding being featured on the kit itself.
The relationship even goes as a far as the dealership and the Club sharing a carpark outside the ground.
Whilst Macklin Motors Dunfermline Vauxhall has also had a presence within the Club’s KDM Group East End Park stadium in the past, that is now being taken to a new level with the East Stand – which backs onto the dealership - being rebranded as the Macklin Motors Community Stand.
The new-look stand was officially launched during a special event at the ground, attended by a number of special guests, including the current Provost of Fife Jim Leishman MBE.
Leishman is a Club Ambassador having spent seven years with the Pars as a player in the 1970s before taking over as first team manager, leading the team to championship honours in both the Scottish Second and First Divisions during the first of two spells in charge.
As well as the support of the Community Stand in the KDM Group East End Park, Macklin Motors branding will also continue to feature on the shorts of the Club’s playing kit, whilst Macklin Motors Dunfermline Vauxhall will take up the role of Official Match Sponsor for selected games during the season.
Paul Lunan, General Manager at Macklin Motors Dunfermline Vauxhall, said: “It is fantastic for us to be able to extend our relationship with Dunfermline Athletic FC into another season, and to expand our partnership with the Macklin Motors Community Stand.
“We are proud to have been involved with Pars for so long and have developed a strong bond with the Club through the years. We look forward to working with both the Club and the local community to make our new-look partnership a success for all concerned.”
Jim Leishman MBE, Dunfermline Athletic Club Ambassador, said: “It’s great to see the partnership between the Pars and Macklin Motors continue to grow from strength-to-strength.
“The Club’s relationship with Macklin Motors Dunfermline goes back several decades. In fact, Paul provided me with a Ford Mondeo years ago - something that we both looked back on fondly at the recent launch. This is testament to the hard work of everyone behind the scenes at both Macklin Motors and Dunfermline Athletic FC, and I am sure this partnership will continue to drive us both forward.”
Alister Burn, Commercial Manager at Dunfermline Athletic FC, said: “We are delighted to extend, and strengthen, our partnership with our local Macklin Motors Dunfermline dealership. To have two iconic brands in Fife working even more closely together is really exciting, and I want to thank everyone at Macklin Motors for their continued support.
“Along with the naming rights of the East Stand, there are already plans in place for special offers to go out to our supporter base, an end of season community event at the stadium, and friendly matches for Academy teams with other sponsored Clubs part of the wider Vertu Motors group across the UK.”
