Macklin Motors Opens £5m State-Of-The-Art Toyota Dealership In Ayr
Macklin Motors, the trading name for Vertu Motors plc in Scotland, has opened a new, state-of-the-art Toyota centre on Heathfield Road, Ayr.
This marks the latest addition to Macklin Motors' growing presence in the West of Scotland, following the award of the Toyota franchise from the manufacturer on 1 April 2022, and the successful openings of centres in Glasgow and Hamilton.
The new Ayr centre, a result of a £5 million investment, boasts an impressive range of facilities, including a main showroom, valet building, MOT and servicing area, and 360 parking spaces for display and customer vehicles. The significant investment not only enhances the local automotive landscape but also brings a number of new jobs to the area, further supporting the community.
Macklin Motors Toyota Ayr is led by Angus Mclelland, who is well known by Toyota customers in the area, having managed the previous Toyota centre for more than 15 years. The centre has also welcomed back Master Technician, John White, who in addition to having over 24 years’ experience with Toyota GB, is a former National Technician of the Year for the brand.
Chris McKenzie, CMA General Manager at Macklin Motors, expressed his enthusiasm for the new opening: "I’m really pleased we are able to bring Toyota back to the people of Ayr and delighted that a familiar face to many, Angus, will be managing the centre.
“Toyota is producing lots of fantastic new models like the Aygo X, Yaris Cross, and the All-Electric Toyota bZ4X – and we will have plenty of used cars available too. There is something for everyone. We hope to provide convenient and high-quality service aligned to our other Macklin Motors Toyota centres already open in Glasgow and Hamilton.”

To celebrate the opening, a grand event is planned from the 26th to 29th of September, where customers and visitors will have the opportunity to explore the new facilities, view the latest Toyota models, and take advantage of special offers available during the event.
