New petrol engine joins Nissan's X-Trail line-up
Nissan has introduced an entry-level petrol version of its X-trail SUV. Priced at £21,995, the all-new X-trail lowers the entry-price to the X-trail range by £1,460.
The fuel-efficient 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit combines sharp performance with low CO2 output and exceptional fuel economy. The engine is already a popular choice in the Nissan Qashqai range, and is set to become the most powerful in the new X-trail range, sitting alongside the existing dCi 130PS unit.
Due to the advanced turbocharged engine, performance matches efficiency and the new X-Trail DIG-T 163 boasts 0-62mph acceleration in 9.7 seconds and a top speed of 124mph.
To help drivers go further for less, the new DIG-T 163 is equipped with Start/Stop ignition system and delivers a smooth, responsive and high quality driving experience.
This new model is only available in two-wheel-drive configuration, with a six-speed manual transmission. Buyers looking for the extra traction of four-wheel drive will have to opt for the 1.6-litre diesel the sole alternative in the range.
The new DIG-T 163 engine is available across all standard X-Trail grades, with Acenta, N-tec and Tekna offering seven seat options. It is available to order in the UK now.
