Nissan Reveals New Ariya NISMO model

The Nissan sportscar brand returns to the UK along with a performance-enhanced version of the award-winning Ariya.

  • The Ariya NISMO marks the first fully electric model from NISMO – the sports car branch of the Nissan brand.
  • It comes as NISMO celebrates its 40th anniversary, with a rich motorsport heritage.
  • The model is due to launch in European markets, with a series of modifications to make it the most powerful Ariya yet.

Nissan’s NISMO brand has revealed the new Nissan Ariya NISMO to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The new model also sees the return of the NISMO brand to the UK, where it will offer high-performance versions of Nissan’s existing models.

The Ariya NISMO EV will be the brand’s first fully electric vehicle to join the market, with a sleek, stylish design built on racing DNA.

Built to impress

The crossover gains several enhanced features to provide a thrilling driving experience. These include:

An aerodynamic profile

Combining Japanese design with optimised aerodynamics, this reduces drag while providing greater downforce.

High-grip tyres

Providing enhanced performance working alongside a tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). This uses sensors to monitor motion and driver input, controlling brake pressure in certain conditions.

Fine-tuned e-4ORCE system

This allows for better torque distribution to the wheels and improved power.

Finely tuned brake pads

Providing the driver with increased stopping power in all conditions for reliable performance.

Dynamic suspension

Working with the e-4ORCE system, both front and rear suspension are maximised for greater performance and control.

Sleek, sophisticated style

Nissan Ariya NISMO Interior

Inside, the Ariya NISMO gains a high-end interior with black Alcantara upholstery and sporty red accents.

The seats are also exclusive to the Ariya NISMO, with an ergonomic design that provides support with every twist and turn and a Formula E-style look. The driver’s cabin pulls it all together with red detailing around the centre console.

Outside, it’s sure to stand out from all angles with several style upgrades. At the front, there’s a revised front bumper flanked by large air vents on both sides and a deeper lower splitter in red.

The side profile is made more refined by chunky side skirts along with sporty alloy wheels. At the rear, double wings and an aggressively styled bumper leave a lasting impression. Not to mention the distinctive NISMO badge.

Mayra Gonzalez, Divisional Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Nissan Europe, said:

“NISMO is back in Europe! We are bringing this exciting brand back into our market with a new and refreshed model. As we push forward the electrification of our lineup, it’s essential that we continue to offer elite and exciting models to customers and NISMO enthusiasts as well”.

“Ariya NISMO strikes the perfect balance of the immediate response and acceleration of an all-electric car with the mechanical fine-tuning of a sports car, resulting in an outstanding car for day-to-day driving. With its striking design and stance, get ready to stand out from the crowd!”
