Nissan Unveils the New and Improved Qashqai
- The pioneering crossover has had a facelift.
- It boasts a range of new infotainment features.
- A new bold N-Design trim has also been introduced.
It’s now been over three years since the third generation Nissan Qashqai launched. In that time, it has sold over 350,000 cars and continues to set the bar for crossover cars. If you thought the popular model couldn’t get any better – think again.
Nissan has recently unveiled the new and improved Qashqai with a revised exterior and a range of new features.
Find out everything you need to know about the refreshed Nissan Qashqai.
Exterior updates
At first glance you’ll notice the revised front grille of the Nissan Qashqai. The striking design takes inspiration from Japanese armour scales. It’s made up of high-gloss, three-dimensional comma shaped elements to create a floating effect between the bonnet and number plate.
The bumper has also been refreshed with the option of gloss black or body coloured on the new N-Design grade.
More standard features are now available on the mid-grade Qashqai, including 18” diamond cut alloy wheels. Whereas the top of the range grades now feature 19” alloy wheels and 20” diamond-cut alloy wheels.
You can also choose from three new colour options – Pearl White, Pearl Black, and Deep Ocean.
Upgraded interior
The upgrades continue inside across many trim levels. A more premium feel has been introduced on the upper three grades with updated seat trims. Ambient lighting is also featured on the N-Connecta, N-Design grades and above. This allows you to personalise the interior based on your mood.
New technology
If you own a Qashqai, or have previously owned one, you’ll be familiar with the Around View Monitor (AVM). The technology has been updated with a new 3D function. This allows you to see the Qashqai from above, as well as eight different view options to help you identify any surrounding hazards.
Another new addition is Parking Spot Location Memory. With this handy feature, you can save regular parking spaces and the Qashqai will use GPS to automatically recognise the location. This then allows for easier maneuvering into even the tightest of spaces.
Google on the road
For the first time in Nissan’s European line-up, the updated Qashqai features Google built in. This unlocks a new level of connectivity between your smartphone and your car.
Sign in with your Google account and gain access to Google Maps, Google Play, and Google Assistant. With Google Assistant, you can control many of the Qashqai’s features by simply saying “Hey Google”.
N-Design trim
A new N-Design trim level has been introduced to the Nissan Qashqai, which sits alongside the Tekna trim. Designed for the bold, it features more aggressive styling.
Specs include:
- Grade-specific body colour bumpers, side mouldings and wheel arches.
- 20” N-Design alloy wheels.
- Grade-specific interior with black Alcantara and leather upholstery.
- Two-tone paint.
- Ambient interior lighting (customisable).
- Sequential turn signals.
- ‘Super Red’ rear LED lights.
- NissanConnect with Google built in.
